How badly am I going to get shafted?

First off, pizza is excelelnt and I try to eat as much as I can.

Second, sizing in A* boot is generally better than the others. At any given time, I own abotu 4 pair in varying models. They all fit like gloves in every model and same size. It isn't impossible that you got a bad one, although I've never heard of that from A*. They have superb customer service. I recommend that you call them when they're next open.

Could one be girls and the other boys? I'm not sure if it matters.

Haha, if they make a woman's 49 I'll eat my shorts. :D

I've been down this road so many times (including contacting the manufacturers, which have been uniformly great) that it's almost expected. I'll try to break them in and if not, sell them off and find something else to try.

As mentioned before, I've bought and returned (or sold off) so much gear over the years that if I had a list of it all, no one would actually believe it.

Tonight's pizza will be Boar's Head pepperoni and pickled jalapenos on a homemade crust with Rao's pizza sauce. And I'll be wearing the SMX-6s while eating it. :D

The contrast in complexity of our lives is astounding. lol

Be sure to report back how ti all goes, including how the 6s liked the pepperoni.

Life on the edge of the bell curve is interesting for sure. I can only imagine how nice it must be to walk into a clothing or shoe store and see racks and racks of stuff your size. :)

OAN, have you figured out what your first track day of 2021 is yet?

It is a shame really, as I rarely buy anything, clothes the least.

Looks like a start in April or May. Crazy season starting to late.

Well, neither the Vanson nor the BKS suits have shown up yet. Apparently it was news to the seller that when you sell something on eBay, you can't just collect your money and then go about your business as usual. You actually have to box some stuff up and ship it out. Who knew!

edit - and still waiting on the Surprise from Italy to see whether we get an Alpinestars or an Allpinstar. :D

It is a tough time for a lot of folks. Maybe they're just late? Have you tried to contact them through eBay? Did they have good reviews adn plenty of history? You can also go through eBay. I've found them very helpful.

It'll be a great deal if it does. If not I'll get my money back. Not really worried. Just like to bitch and complain. :D

My timing is impeccable as always. The BKS showed up a few minutes after posting all that, and it is gorgeous. It 100% lives up to the hype of the name.

Sadly, there is no way it is a 50. More like a 46 or 48. It's going to have to go back up for sale. :(

@2slow, I bet it would fit you perfectly. I've already cleaned it with Lexol cleaner and conditioned it with Lexol conditioner, and washed the zip-out liner. :)

Nice! A shame it is red. :P

I already have 4 one piece adn two two piece suits. On suits...I'm set! (And I'm a 42!)

2slow, BKS suits are made by hand in England and pricing starts at ~$2100 for a new one. o_O They are very high-end suits. You can have this one for what I have in it, which is precisely $284.88 haha. If you never do a track day you could easily resell it for that much (or more), but if you do do one you probably won't find a suit like this anywhere near that price.

Otherwise I'm going to list it for $350 and move it out. It's a shame to let it go. :(

The Vanson got here last night. When I tried it on, there were multiple sharp pains all over my legs. Took the suit off as quickly as possible and discovered that - I am not making this up and KK can back me up - there were acorns and pieces of acorns all up and down legs between the liner and the leather. Apparently the suit was a great hiding spot for Senor Squirrel. o_O

Once the acorns were removed...how did it fit?

Their back protectors use a two piece plastic clip to hold the layers on their back protector. Occassionally, they come off and the pointy bit gets loose in there. Bug bites? No, just that pesky plastic bit!

A little small in height and width but I think it's usable. It's like one size bigger than the BKS.

The reality is (and I've known this for thirty years lol) until I get a custom suit, nothing is going to fit perfect.
