So this is how it happens huh, you get faster bike, I get faster bike. I thought we had an agreement over bbq on that DS ride that we were content with the machines we had and would never stray from the SV.

I dunno, I think I said something like "I don't need to go faster than 135mph" but how fast I get there is a different story.

I've now ridden five bikes at the track: 40hp, 75hp, 85hp, 90hp, and 135hp. I think right around 100hp is the sweet spot for me. Don't need or want anything more than that. I do like torque though. It just opens up all kinds of options on gear selection, and it is a strike against the RS660.

You could always buy a track ready MT/FZ-09....there has to be some out there, pre-scuffed and ready to ride!

Or wait, a Superhawk! V-twin, giant carbs, 100hp built on or before 2000. No heated grips, but that has to be close enough to making the whole group happy!

You could always buy a track ready MT/FZ-09....there has to be some out there, pre-scuffed and ready to ride!

Or wait, a Superhawk! V-twin, giant carbs, 100hp built on or before 2000. No heated grips, but that has to be close enough to making the whole group happy!

Shockingly there are not any/many track-prepped xx-09s. There is no race class that they compete in and the number of people interested in tracking them is barely more than me.

But Yamaha if you are listening then everyone and his brother wants an R9.

A 2022 version of the Superhawk would also be perfect.

Pretty cool. Yamaha had a hub center steered sport tourer if I remember right. And a company called Christini (sp?) Made 2wd dirt bikes for a while.

GTS1000. I rode one and once it was moving (even a few MPH), it was spectacular. And a lovely engine, tame by today's standards though.
