BTW, is there a particular brand of protective case that is The One To Get? Amazon is full of brands like HAPPYSMILETECH and JOY2UFRIEND, and none of those Chinglish brand names inspire confidence.

For GoPro? I have one OEM protective case, but you need to remove the unit lens to put it in there. And I have a Chinese one that seems just as good, and no prep needed.

Following the advice of a guy on the WERA forums that races a Beemer (because why wouldn't you), I got this mount.

He said it would not block your view of the instruments and would not be in the way when tucked in, and he's right - even though it totally looks like it's in the way. And it gives the GoPro a great view of your gauges and the road ahead. Hopefully it will pass tech!

This is what you see when sitting on the bike ... and yes, I took this picture while the GoPro was mounted. :)

Whelp, I managed to simultaneously break the ears of both the RAM ball mount and the cheap plastic case I got on eBay. I am admittedly a bit of a ham-fist, which is why I love torque wrenches so much. But that's a different story.

Next up is an aluminum case. Hopefully the ears are harder to break on that.

How is that possible? :) How tight did you try? It is just a piece of plastic that doesn't need much. Be sure to safety wire it, also.

So I was gonna clamp the GoPro to the Beemer tomorrow using the old RAM mount that's been on the R1100S since before I had gray hair, but that idea is out the window. Does anyone see any downside to attaching one of those adhesive mounts to the top triple clamp?

I worked hard to leave nuts out of it but you just couldn't help yourself.

Is this forum for just us? Where is everyone?

I don't think any of the old timers ride any more. A few claim to still have bikes, but I don't believe them.

As I mentioned in another thread, it's time to find some new blood. ;)

Bought three "official" batteries and three aftermarket batteries with the Hero 9.

Two of the "official" batteries are dead already. Thanks GoPro!

I have two factory ones also. They don't work very well. The aftermarket ones rock.
