I hit a late apex at 4, immediately flip over and drive straight past turn 5, I drift out and let the corner slow me down, then gas it across turn 6 towards the outside to setup for the drive out past turn 7.

Wait ... are you saying you are decelerating past the apex of 5? I'm accelerating there! That's going to be a tough one to get my head around but I'll work on it!

I think What you said is basically what I am doing too. Keep in mind when I accelerate it’s different than when you accelerate. I just need a quick blip of throttle to get me into the turn with enough speed where you probably have to hold the throttle for longer.

I try to straight-shot 4-5 much more than most other people and it works. I suspect part of it is just the SV so maybe it will help you too. Once past the tight part of 5 just roll on the throttle until you reach your comfortable max lean and hold that until the exit of 7. Figuring out where the tight part of 5 ends is just experience; it took me many days to feel it and I'm just now getting to that point!
We talked about this on depth and that’s the way I’ve been running it, most of the time!

Another thought, or thing you might be seeing is what’s the difference in my/your body position when in traffic? Does it change? Should it change? Do the CRs have different BP when coaching vs riding?

Matt, I am lazy when coaching, so my BP isn't ideal. I haven't done a lap for myself in a year or three. I need to get out and do that!

Matt, this might crack you up. It was how folks were trained to ride in the old days! I'm sure that future riders will look back on us for a good laugh too.

I haven't ridden with JAS in fifteen months! It was so much fun to be on the track at the same time! I loved getting a wave every time he went by. :)

I'll never forget when I was braking for Turn 1 and someone tried to sneak under me at the last second!!! I was so mad and thinking to myself... how dare they do that! The person backed off and let me have the line. Then they came around in turn 2 and it was JustAnotherSquid! I thought "ok I'll let that one slide". :D
